The power of pauses, parachutes and poetry in the art of storytelling

  • start with a bang: don’t ramp up – get your audience in the heart of the action directly: parachute them in
  • find your a motto: sparkle your presentation with one strong motto which you want your audience to go away with – start with it, end with it
  • use the power of pause: difficult to manipulate, a pause is dreadfully efficient to let a statement sink in, a number impress, or indeed your motto to be remembered
